About the Role
Your mission? Lead our B2B Business Development function and drive growth across Quidax’s B2B product suite. You’ll guide a team of Business Development Officers, Sales Executives & Marketing in creating awareness for our B2B products, building strategic partnerships, unlocking new revenue opportunities, and expanding our ecosystem across Africa and beyond.
This is a leadership role at the intersection of partnerships, growth, and strategy, one that requires both high-level vision and hands-on execution. So, while being responsible for managing, scaling and ensuring our teams deliver impact across multiple products, you’d also be expected to lead from the front, building and nurturing your key partnerships.
What you’ll be doing
Month 3:
Get the team to create and maintain a pipeline of 1000+ qualified high volume leads (leads that process >$1m per month in volume).
Drive the team to carry out 500 Product demos for new high volume leads.
Get the team to onboard 40 new API merchants to go live & start transacting.
Get 3 high volume API merchants in your pipeline to go live.
Month 6:
Get the team to create and maintain a pipeline of 1000+ qualified high volume leads (leads that process >$1m per month in volume)
Drive the team to carry out 1000 Product Demos for New High Volume Leads
Get the team to onboard 40 new API merchants to Go Live & Start Transacting.
Get 8 High Volume merchants in your pipeline to go live.
Month 12:
Build a scalable and successful API Merchant acquisition playbook across all B2B products.
Unlock Transactions from Businesses in 4 other African Countries outside Nigeria.
Develop case studies showcasing business value created via API integrations
Biggest Challenge You’ll Tackle
Building out a world class sales API sales team.
Shortening the onboarding time for prospecting clients.
Navigating the complex terrain of engaging with all the multiple teams selling a technical solution to both business and developer stakeholders
Managing cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to deliver smooth API launches
Balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, you’ll do both
Who We’re Looking For
8+ years of experience in business development or B2B sales (preferably in fintech, or crypto).
4+ years of experience in leading Sales/Business Development/Growth/partnership teams (preferably B2B sales teams in fintech, or crypto)
Experience selling technical products and managing long sales cycles
Strong track record of driving user acquisition, revenue growth, and successful partnerships.
Strong understanding of APIs and how developers and businesses use them
A leader who is result oriented and will go above and beyond to ensure their team meets and exceeds their targets
You’re a natural relationship builder who can move between strategic convos and technical details with ease.
Strong connection with key decision-makers in the finance, banking & crypto industry.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to foster long-term relationships with strategic partners.
A passion for innovation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
An entrepreneurial mindset with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
A self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments and doesn't wait for instructions.
Bonus: Experience working with crypto/blockchain companies, developer tools, or financial APIs.
Reporting Line
You’ll report to our VP of B2B Sales and Partnership and work closely with the API Product Manager, API Engineering Team, Merchant Success & Market Operations teams to scale our API ecosystem.
