About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Sales who is a closer and revenue-obsessed and can turn Quidax’s new-and-improved app into raw trading volume. This isn’t about just “managing accounts” - it’s about building pipelines, deepening wallet share, and locking in partnerships that move the revenue needle.

You’ll own both sides of our sales engine:

  • Retail: activate and retain high-value traders, turning dormant accounts into power users.

  • API/B2B: expand our partner base, drive volume through integrations, and keep clients sticky even when competition is circling.

If you’ve built and scaled revenue teams in fintech, crypto, or financial services and you know how to mix short-term wins with long-term strategic bets - this role is literally in your pocket.

What You’ll Be Owning Drive

Build and scale a dual-engine sales machine

  • Within 90 days: audit the retail portfolio and current API partners. Know exactly who’s driving volume, who’s dormant, and where the biggest revenue leaks are.

  • Within 3 months: 10x retail activity and double the number of active API partners.

  • By Q2 2026: have a repeatable sales playbook that drives sustainable revenue from both B2C whales and B2B/API integrations across Africa.

Own the numbers that matter

  • From day 1: obsess over GMV, ARPU, whale activity, pipeline health, and partner API volume share.

  • Within 60 days: launch transparent sales dashboards so leadership sees volume projections vs. actuals in real time.

  • By 12 months: deliver at least a 30% uplift in overall trading volume, with API contributing no less than 35%.

Activate and retain high-value traders

  • First 60 days: design personalized activation and retention plays for whales (VIP programs, private events, custom incentives).

  • Within 3 months: reduce dormant whale accounts by 25%.

  • By year 1: build a whale program that rivals Binance Angels or Coinbase One, creating real stickiness.

Grow and defend API partnerships

  • Within 30 days: map the API partner landscape (crypto and fintech) and assess where Quidax has credibility gaps.

  • Within 3 months: close at least 3 new API partnerships with high-volume potential.

  • By day 120: ensure no more than 5% churn among top API partners, even with ongoing stability challenges.

Build & lead a high-performing sales squad

  • Within 30 days: reset team rituals (pipeline reviews, forecasting, clear performance metrics).

  • Within 3 months: restructure the sales org into pods, with clear ownership.

  • By day 120: have a revenue culture where pipeline velocity, deal closure, and account growth are the default.

Drive cross-functional revenue plays

  • Within 30 days: partner with Product & Engineering to advocate for features that whales and partners actually pay attention to.

  • Within 3 months: co-create campaigns with User Acquisition and Marketing that highlight trading opportunities and API reliability.

  • By year 1: establish joint revenue loops where Sales + Product + Marketing fuel compounding trade activity.

  • Turning a shiny new app into actual trade volume despite nagging stability issues.

  • Waking up dormant whales in a market where trust and incentives drive loyalty.

  • Winning API partners from competitors who dangle deep discounts and more reliable infra.

  • Scaling a sales culture in a crypto market that shifts weekly - regulations, trends, and liquidity.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in sales leadership, with proven success in fintech, crypto, or financial markets.

  • Experience driving both high-value retail and institutional/API revenue.

  • Track record of increasing total trading volume and ARPU in competitive, low-trust markets.

  • Fluent in building and running sales pipelines, dashboards, and forecasting models.

  • Deep understanding of trading behaviors (retail and institutional), incentive levers, and crypto market dynamics.

  • Comfortable balancing short-term deal closing with long-term strategic growth.

Bonus points if you -

  • Have successfully run whale/VIP programs in a trading or fintech platform.

  • Built institutional partnerships in multiple African markets.

  • Know how to keep clients sticky through product downtime without losing credibility.

Thrived in a high-growth, high-pressure environment where adaptability mattered more than job titles

Reporting Line:

You’ll report directly to the CEO, working closely with User Growth, Product, Marketing and Operations leadership.
