About Quidax

Quidax is where money meets limitless possibilities. We’re building simple, secure crypto products that help individuals and businesses across Africa move value freely. We care deeply about trust, clarity, and doing the fundamentals really well, especially when it comes to finance.

About the Role

We’re hiring an Accounting Manager to strengthen the structure, accuracy, and reliability of our accounting function. You’ll keep the books accurate, reporting tight, and controls strong, while working closely with the CFO to support scale, audits, compliance, and better financial decision-making.

You’ll work directly in the numbers, own key accounting activities across multiple entities, and strengthen the processes required to keep our financial records reliable as transaction volumes and business complexity grow.

If you take pride in getting the numbers right, not “mostly right,” and know how to bring order to complex accounts, this role will feel very familiar.

What You’ll Be Owning

Financial Reporting and Close

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities, ensuring it is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

  • Prepare and review entity-level and consolidated financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

  • Maintain accurate reconciliations, schedules, journal entries, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure intercompany accounts and eliminations are complete, consistent, and properly resolved.

  • Raise the quality and discipline of the close process as transaction volumes and business lines grow.

B2B and Operational Accounting

  • Own the accounting treatment for B2B products, contracts, revenue, fees, settlements, and client balances.

  • Ensure commissions, partner transactions, and settlement flows are recorded accurately and on time.

  • Work closely with Settlement, Revenue Assurance, Operations, Commercial, and Treasury teams to ensure the accounts reflect what is happening across the business.

  • Translate complex, high-volume transaction flows into clear, accurate, and auditable accounting entries.

Accounting Operations and Controls

  • Strengthen controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, reconciliations, and intercompany movements.

  • Review existing accounting processes and close control gaps that could affect the accuracy or reliability of financial information.

  • Ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied to fiat and crypto-related transactions, including valuation, custody, fees, and taxes.

  • Improve accounting processes to reduce manual work, errors, and dependence on undocumented knowledge.

  • Keep accounting policies, process notes, schedules, and supporting documentation current and audit-ready.

Audit, Tax and Compliance

  • Lead the preparation of accounting records and supporting documentation for external audits

  • Work with auditors to resolve queries, explain accounting treatments, and close outstanding issues

  • Support tax filings and statutory reporting across relevant jurisdictions

  • Ensure financial reporting complies with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements

  • Identify and escalate accounting, control, and reporting risks before they become larger problems

Budgeting and Financial Analysis

  • Support budgeting and forecasting with reliable entity-level financial information.

  • Analyse variances and provide clear explanations of material movements.

  • Support the CFO with accounting analysis and other financial information required for decision-making.

The Challenges You’ll Take On

  • Maintaining accurate and reliable financial records while keeping reporting and close activities on track.

  • Resolving complex reconciliations and ensuring accounting treatments are applied consistently.

  • Managing high transaction volumes across multiple entities without losing accuracy.

  • Keeping intercompany accounts and eliminations correct as the business grows.

  • Accounting accurately for complex fiat, crypto, B2B, and settlement flows.

  • Building repeatable processes where work previously depended on manual steps or undocumented knowledge.

  • Maintaining audit readiness throughout the year, not only when an audit begins.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including two or more years at Senior Associate level or above (or Assistant Manager and above), with hands-on ownership of the numbers rather than review or oversight.

  • Experience gained in a top-tier audit or professional services environment, or in an equally complex multi-entity business with exposure to multiple engagements, high transaction volumes and rigorous reporting and control standards.

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CPA, or an equivalent qualification

  • Strong, practical knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting issues across multiple accounts or entities.

  • Strong experience with month-end and year-end close, internal controls, and audit preparation.

  • Experience working with complex accounts, multiple entities, or high transaction volumes

  • Strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to work effectively without relying on a heavy ERP.

  • Comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and conversations with senior stakeholders

  • Dependable, organised, and able to take ownership without close supervision

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting complex audit, reporting, or finance transformation engagements.

  • Exposure to group consolidations and multi-jurisdiction reporting

  • Experience with financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or similarly complex client engagements

  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms

  • Exposure to accounting for digital assets or cryptocurrency transactions
